Keys and doors

A key unlocks every door of its colour at once, but not two-colour gates.

First appears on level 311

What it does

A key lies on the board in its colour, with that colour's symbol in its bow. On a board with a key, the gates of its colour are locked doors: a double door in the colour with a padlock showing the same symbol. The key never blocks.

The first arrow, or bomb on its way to its rock, that flies over the key turns it: a spark runs to every door of its colour, wherever it is, the padlocks drop and the doors swing open for good. Two-colour gates don't react to keys.

How to beat it

  • A locked door far away with no arrow of its colour in sight? Look for the key of its colour on a free arrow's path.
  • A key earlier on an arrow's own path unlocks a door further along that same path before the arrow gets there.

Good to know

  • Level 311 introduces keys and doors with one key and its doors.
  • In-game tip: "A key opens every door of its colour."
