Music, calls and messages
On Future: the song that's playing, missed calls and new messages.
What it does
Future shows the song that's playing, with its cover and the media volume, and how many calls you missed and messages you haven't read.
For that, Android has to give the app notification access. Android warns that an app with it could read all your notifications: this one only reads the song that's playing and counts missed calls and messages. Nothing leaves your phone.
How it works for you
- The app asks after you pick or buy Future. You can also go to Settings → Design → Music, calls and messages and tap Open Android settings.
- Without access, the music area reads MUSIC AND CALLS ARE OFF: the volume bar still works and the counts are hidden.
- You can turn the access off any time in Android's settings.
Good to know
- Calls and messages are counted from their notifications, never from your call log or your messages. Classic never asks for notification access.
